Kayoko Matsumoto - Owner

A native of Japan, Kayoko Matsumoto began her career as a hairstylist at the age of seventeen in Yokohama, Japan. She received her training at the Hayami Institute of Arts and completed her apprenticeship in various salons in Tokyo and Yokohama over ten years.

In 2009, Kayoko relocated to Boston, Massachusetts after being recruited by a salon on Newbury Street. In this new international environment, Kayoko was introduced to crafting hair of different textures and nature of people from different backgrounds. She has continued to work towards perfecting her talent in applying her aesthetic vision with her Japanese hair crafting techniques to a diverse clientele.

Kayoko is valued by her clients for her personalized service that is dedicated to promoting one’s individuality. She places careful attention on understanding her client’s hair to craft the best, yet natural, look.

Nao Hashimoto - Stylist

Nao joined en.Salon in the summer of 2019 as an intern and quickly advanced her skills as a trainee. Now, as a Stylist, she continues to develop new techniques under the guidance of Kayoko and is building her own client base.

Originally from Osaka, Japan, Nao graduated from Kwansei Gakuin University in 2017 where she majored in German/German literature. Seeking new opportunities abroad, she moved to Boston and enrolled in TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy to pursue a career in cosmetology. She earned her cosmetology license in 2019.

Caitlyn Roney - Junior Stylist

While studying environmental science at the University of Vermont, Caitlyn found herself happiest when cutting hair for her friends in her dorm room.

She left Vermont and returned to her home state of Massachusetts to pursue her passion for a career in the beauty industry. Caitlyn graduated from Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy in May 2021 and joined the en.Salon team in November 2022 as an assistant.

She is excited to learn the craft of Japanese hair styling under the mentorship of Kayoko.

Kiyomi Tatsumi - Stylist

Kiyomi grew up in a conservative family and thought she would become a dental technician—but her strong passion for creating something original with her hands inspired her to secretly apply to cosmetology school. The rest is history.

Kiyomi originally hails from Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan. She has over 30 years of hair styling experience and held managerial positions at several salons in Japan. Kiyomi worked as a self-employed hair stylist in Kotoni, Hokkaido for 7 years until she moved to the US in 2019 for her partner’s job.
